Sock Toss

Gather a pile of rolled-up, matched socks. (If you have unmatched socks of different colors, sort them into color piles and then make pairs of socks in the same color.) Place an empty laundry basket about 2 feet away from where you and your grandchild stand together. Show her how to toss a pair into the basket. Take turns, announcing “your turn” and “my turn.” Keep score. For variety, try throwing just blue pairs. The possibilities are endless.

The Hokey-Pokey

Stand next to each other and sing the song while performing the corresponding motions. Your toddler probably won’t know right from left, but she can follow your lead.
